Traditional Chinese Medicine
TCM is the oldest and one of the most holistic medical systems
available today. Chinese medicine does not separate symptoms of
a physical nature from those of a mental-emotional nature. Further,
in Chinese medicine every sign and symptom is understood and interpreted
in relationship to all others as a single pattern. It is designed
to treat the person not just the disease and has an individualized
diagnostic and treatment techniques. Because of its holistic views
of the body and mind it is more specific for each patients needs
than is Western medicine.
Dr Rada Prelevich practices TCM is successfully by acupuncture,
reflexology and if considered significantly benefitial for the treatment,
it is also complemented with individually selected herbal medicine
in order to speed up the treatment. Dr.Rada Prelevic has recieved
training at the University of Bejing, China.
Acupuncture
is an important component of Traditional Chinese Medicine used in
the prevention and treatment of disease. During the acupuncture
treatment, fine acupuncture needles, will be placed along the pathway
on the acupuncture points to move the Qi energy and "eliminate
the energy blockages" thus improving the free flow of energy.
As long as this energy flows freely throughout the meridians, health
is maintained, but once the flow of energy is blocked, the system
is disrupted and pain and illness occur. Acupuncture works to "re-program"
and restore normal functions by stimulating certain points on the
meridians.
Today acupuncture is considered a "new alternative" medicine,
but really, Acupuncture and the Traditional Chinese Medicine is
one of the oldest continuous systems of medicine in history, with
recorded instances dating as far back as five thousand years. This
is in sharp contrast to the Western medicine, which has history
of few hundred years!
